Weekend Round UP (Memorial Day Edition!)

Hey there Loves! I hope this post finds you well rested, stupidly happy and slightly sunburnt. (The number one sign that you had the most perfect Memorial Day Weekend!) I’m sitting here STILL refusing to believe it’s back to work today (even though I have to be out the door in about 15 minutes) and scrolling through my happy memories from the weekend.

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. So today, I’m sitting back and letting my photos do the talking. I had such a perfect weekend that I legit cried half the way home. (I didn’t want to leave!) We kicked off summer the right way, and I hope you did too!

Jacksy Cat was SO excited to be headed to his “Vacay House”!

We woke up with the sun to get out fishing!

A few casts in I caught this cute little rock bass! 

Then I switched to a different LiveTarget lure and two casts in caught this massive bass! (He was 14.5 inches!) I was STOKED. I caught the biggest fish of the day, and it was my first time ever trying top water fishing! 

I gave up fishing after I sent my bass back to be with his fish family, and decided to be The Captain instead. 

After fishing we headed to the beach for some rock hunting. We had the most beautiful day!

We also found a ton of treasures!

Friday afternoon we cleaned up for my cousins graduation! 

We headed to TJs for Drinks and Apps before the ceremony.

After the ceremony we headed to the hall to help decorate for her Graduation Party the next day. 

Saturday morning my dad made the most AMAZING blueberry muffins! Would you want the recipe in an upcoming post?! Let me know!

It was SO HOT on Saturday! We literally couldn’t wait to get out on the boat!

We had the best afternoon out on the boat!

This is one of the big freighters that come to Manistee regularly. It’s pretty amazing because this MASSIVE ship navigates its way from Lake Michigan down the channel that runs along our downtown into Manistee Lake to the factories to deliver coal. We got right up next to it on our boat ride!

Saturday evening we hung out at my Grandma’s and then caught a quick sunset!

We ended up watching this one from the car because it was kind of chilly out!

I was only catching Rock Bass and I was tired so I ended up napping in the front of the boat. This was my “I just woke up and I’m ready to fish again” selfie. HAHA

It of course, isn’t a trip home without Big Al’s!

Saturday afternoon we celebrated my Grandpa’s birthday!

That evening we headed for a walk on the River Walk. 

We had planned to grab ice cream while we walked but the wait was super long! So we decided to skip the ice cream so we didn’t miss the sunset.
