Weekend Round Up

Hey Friends! Happy Monday! I hope you’re all having the best start to your week! I’ve had a pretty decent Monday… but I’m already counting down the days to the weekend.

Speaking of weekends… we had a really good one! For the first time in awhile, we didn’t have to go anywhere or do much of anything for the weekend! Trev did have to work a bit, but I used my time wisely to make sure that some things got done around the house before the impending rough weather later this week.

Our weekend started out on Friday when I got home from work. We tried a new restaurant for dinner and we really liked it. The Brussels sprouts were SO GOOD. Like I liked them more than my dinner and ate almost the entire plate on my own 😂 After dinner we made a Target run and then came home to snuggle in for the night. We were planning to watch a movie, but ended up binging New Girl and falling asleep on the couch. #ThisIs30

Saturday, we slept in a bit and had some coffee together before Trev had to head to work. I left after he did go on the hunt for Thanksgiving plates. This ended up being a waste of two hours… I had bought a pack earlier this Fall, but needed more. And of course the cute ones are sold out everywhere. I ended up getting plain old paper plates that our guests can pack with food. No one really is going to care what’s on there plate anyways… right? While I was out I stopped by Bath and Body Works to get some new wallflowers and grab a salad for lunch from Wendy’s. (Have you tried their salads yet? They are pretty good!)

When I got home I started cleaning out our coat closet because we were starting our next house project! I’m VERY excited about this one. Our closet was fine, but it didn’t work like we wanted it to. When we moved in, we removed a large bank of cabinets because they made our space feel closed in and small. We are so happy we took them out, but we did lose quite a bite of kitchen storage by doing this. We were okay with this because we knew eventually, we’d be doing a makeover on our coat closet turning it into a coat closet/pantry/storage combo. Well, we FINALLY started this project and I can’t wait to get it done! I drew the design and Trev is bringing it to life!

Saturday evening we made some trips to Home Depot, ordered dinner. watched the Michigan game and started decluttering our basement.

Sunday, Jacksy Cat decided to wake me up at 4 am for his breakfast and I couldn’t fall back asleep for the life of me. So I made some coffee and snuggled up on the couch to finish the book I had been reading. (It was super cute! I’ll talk about it more on Wednesday.) Trev woke up and headed to work and I got started on the busiest Sunday I’ve had in awhile! I cleaned the house, did a mountain of laundry, raked the yard, winterized the gardens, moved the patio furniture inside and took down our string lights. I was EXHAUSTED by the time Trev got home. He worked a little more in the yard and I made banana muffins and watched Netflix.

Sunday night we made Sweet Potato Chili and did our normal Sunday things to prep for the week.

Woah. I feel like this post was super chatty? But I also feel like we didn’t do anything exciting this weekend so I really didn’t have much to be chatty about. Hopefully you’re still with me! 😂
