Happy New Year!

Hi Friends! It’s been so long since we’ve chatted… it feels like last year 🙂 HA Your girl has got mad Dad jokes, I know. But in all seriousness, I’ve missed you! I hope you’ve all  kicked off 2021 surrounded by those you love most (socially distanced, of course) with your sights set on new goals and dreams!

I’ve been feeling pretty sad lately, so I decided to take a week off the blog. Which meant my typical end of the year posts didn’t go up. However, did we really need a recap of 2020? I mean, I feel like you didn’t want to see thousands of photos of me on my couch anyways.

So today, I thought I’d catch you up on a little bit of my life lately!

Christmas was SO different for us this year. Not only were we missing our sweet Manly, but we had Christmas at our house. I had to work on Christmas Eve and with covid, our typical Christmas celebrations weren’t happening. This year, I had to dig really really deep to muster up some Christmas cheer.

My parents arrived on Wednesday evening and I was so happy to have them here. We spent the evening getting them settled in and watching a Christmas movie before I had to head to be since I worked the next day.

Luckily work was SUPER easy on Christmas Eve and went by quickly. As soon as I walked in the door we had Christmas Eve Zoom with Trev’s family. They all live in the same town and are with each other every day, so they felt safe gathering together. We felt safer keeping our germs away from them and Zooming in.

While we were on Zoom, my parents were preparing our Christmas Eve feast… a whole bunch of appitizers! We pigged out and worked on a Christmas puzzle while listening to Michael Buble on our record player.

We woke up Christmas morning and opened presents! We got so many wonderful gifts from loved ones but our favorites were these robes 😎

We spent the rest of our day watching Christmas movies, Facetiming our family members, eating a ton of food and playing our new games!

The rest of the weekend Trev had to work. (His team had games.) I got to just hang out with my parents! The highlight of the weekend? My dad making us pizzas with his new pizza oven! (They were INCREDIBLE. He has this one by Ooni!)

My family left on Monday and I was so sad for them to go! Trev was back to work too. But me? I had taken the week off. I’m really glad I did because it gave me a lot of time to just relax. I spent my week cleaning, organizing and reading.

Thursday Trev and I celebrated the TEN YEAR anniversary of our first date along with the end of 2020!

Lol crazy how much things change yet stay the same in a decade!

We rang in the New Year at home on our couch with Jacksy Cat. A very fitting end to our year.

Since then I’ve been spending my last few days of vacation on the couch reading! I made a goal to read at least 12 books this year. I started a new book on the 1st, finished it (loved it, btw) and started another new book on the 2nd! So far, at least one of my resolutions is off to a great start 🙂

And guys… that’s about it! I hope you all had a really wonderful holiday and start to the new year! I’ll be back tomorrow to share my New Year’s Resolutions!

Have the best rest of your Monday!

Xx.
