Weekend Round Up

Hey Loves! I hope you’re all having the BEST day. It was the most perfect summer day here in Metro Detroit! We had the best weekend here at home.

Our weekend started Friday night when I got home from work. Friday is usually date night, but we’re still being pretty cautious about going out to eat, and I had a mission planned for us!

Friday morning, I found the most PERFECT lamps for our guest bedroom… at Walmart! I was super excited because they said they were in stock at my store. So before I went to work I ran to my favorite Walmart and they were no where to be found. Which I thought was super weird because the app said they were in stock. Turns out, I went to the wrong Walmart. (There is literally two within less than 3 miles of each other.) So I drove to the other Walmart quickly and was so excited to see they had them!

I grabbed the first and it was perfect, but the only other one they had didn’t have the glass shade! An associate told me they didn’t have any more in back, they couldn’t get me a glass shade, and there was nothing they could do to mark the lamp down because otherwise it was “in perfect condition.” So I bought the perfect one, and drove to the Walmart right around the corner from my work hoping to find just one more lamp. I didn’t have any luck.

Luckily, living in a metropolitan area, there are literally hundreds of Walmarts within a half hour of me, so I wasn’t too worried. I knew I’d find one. So Friday night, we drove a 15 miles east of where we live to a Walmart that said they had them in stock. And guess what? We got there and they weren’t in stock! I was super mad because it took us and hour to get there in traffic, and it wasn’t a very nice Walmart. I was feeling totally defeated, but Trev cheered me up by suggesting Red Robin take out for dinner. We picked it up and came home to binge watch Floor Is Lava while we ate and turned in early for the night.

Saturday morning I woke up, still in search of a lamp. I found it in stock at another Walmart, 30 miles in another direction. I ordered it for pick up at this location before we left to do some errands. While we were out, we found some pretty amazing deals! My favorite?! This Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree from Target!

I scooped it up for 60% off! I couldn’t believe how cheap it was. I knew it would be the perfect addition to our living room. We were out for most of the morning when we got a text that our Walmart order was ready for pick up! It was gloomy out, so it ended up being the perfect day for a drive. We drove for an hour and I don’t think I’ve ever been happier to see a lamp in my life!

And yes… it was so worth it. They look perfect in our guest room! (Here is a little sneak peak. We still have a lot of work to do in there before I share it!)

When we got home, we cleaned the house really good and started adding a few new decor touches!

I love how my new plants in our living room look! Trev built me this cute little shelf and I feel like it really fills up the spaces that were feeling a little bit too empty.

Today we slept in, and I spent the entire day outside in my mini pool reading! I finished the book Feels Like Falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey and it was SO GOOD. I loved it. If you’ve never read any of her books, you need to. They are all amazing! I also started a new book today that’s really good so far too! In true Savannah fashion, I can’t remember the name of it at the moment, and Trev hid my book from me so that I could get some stuff done. (I have the hardest time putting my book down. I’m the worst!)

Speaking of… I think it’s about time to snuggle up in my den and read some more! I’ll be back these next few days with some Fourth of July inspired posts. Also, can you BELIVE that this week is The Fourth of July?! I’m honestly shook. It doesn’t feel like it at all.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of you Sunday! I’ll be back tomorrow 🙂
