10 Workouts To Try While You're Social Distancing!

Hi Friends! Happy, happy Monday! I hope you’re all enjoying a day inside your home.

As the coronavirus is spreading, I’m sure more and more of us are finding ourselves stuck inside our homes. I know if Michigan, all gyms are closed, meaning most residents have no access to the places they go to keep them fit and healthy.

But me? I’ve been training for this my whole life. I’ve never really liked working out in gyms. I find that I get bored using gym equipment and prefer to do fun workouts that I can find on YouTube, Apps or in my husband’s brain. (Perks of being married to a Strength Coach.)

So today, I thought I’d share my favorite 10 Workouts that you can try while Social Distancing! All of these workouts can be done in your home, and don’t require any equipment other than what you probably already have. (Like hand weights.)

#1. Blogilates

I’m starting with a tried and true favorite of mine, Blogilates! I love, love, love working out with Cassey Ho! She is so upbeat, chipper and real. Me, and 4 million other of her YouTube subscribers have hundreds of Pop Pilates videos to choose from. From Abs to Arms, to different workout series (like Bridal Bootcamp) and everything in between, there is something for everyone, no matter what level you might be at! I find myself #dead after her total body work outs, and her quick burns are some of my favorite! You can follow along with her fitness calendar, or her daily playlists for a full workout routine. OR, you can repeat your favorite videos every day, like me. Either way, you’ll finish your workout feeling happier, lighter, and stronger every day.

#2. Tone It Up Power Yoga Flo

It’s not secret that Tone It Up has created their own fitness empire on YouTube. While I don’t gravitate to most of their videos (I prefer Blogilates) I really love this particular video. It doesn’t matter if I haven’t worked out in months, or have been working out every day, I FEEL THIS WORKOUT. I will be so sore the next day, but the good kind of sore. I feel stronger when I do this workout on the daily too. I like it because it’s kind of relaxing like normal Yoga, but it gets my heart rate up and helps me feel like I’m actually working out and not just zoning out like I do for most Yoga flows. Speaking of Yoga…

#3. Yoga with Adriene

When I feel like doing a chill workout, I like to do Yoga. My soul always feels better after a Yoga with Adriene video. I love that she has specific flows to help you through different moods like stress and anxiety. I also really love her bedtime yoga, to help me relax and leave my worries on the mat before crawling into bed at night.

#4. The Fitness Marshall

One of my absolute favorite workouts EVER is The Fitness Marshall! His fun dance routines don’t even feel like a workout… they feel like my favorite hip hop classes growing up. Caleb is fun and energetic! His choreography is challenging, and keeps me on my toes. Oh, and he’s even done a few collabs with my girl Cassey at Blogilates 🙂 You can’t help but smile your way through a workout with The Fitness Marshall!

#5. Sweat with Kayla Itsines

I love this App. I love BBG. I love that I can physically see the changes in my body when I do this. The work outs are great, the app is user friendly and the community that comes with it is so supportive! You do have to pay for this app, but to be honest, it’s practically pocket change compared to what you might pay for an in person class or a gym membership! You can cancel your subscription at any time, and pick back up too! I like to use the Sweat App during the summer, when I have a little bit more time to dedicate to working out.

#6. POPSUGAR Fitness

I love POPSUGAR Fitness because they have the trainers of your favorite celebs on to show you what they do to look flawless. I especially love this particular one for Victoria’s Secret arms and the one I linked above that is super low impact.

#7. Headspace Move

The Headspace App that I have raved about for ages now has a “Move” section with Mindful workouts! These videos aren’t as fun as the other’s that I’ve shared, however, they remind you to use the mindfullness you work on while meditating in your workout routine. I find these are super helpful, especially when my anixety is through the roof. Plus, two Olympians are your coaches on your fitness journey.

#8. Amazon Prime Fitness

Did you know that if you subscribe to Amazon Prime you’ve got a bunch of Fitness videos are your finger tips? This was news to me until a few days ago! I tried one the other day, and I really enjoyed it! I’m still not exactly sure how to get to them though… so if you know how, leave it in the comments below! (I followed a link from an article. #9. My Husband’s YouTube Channel

My hubby has had to find a way to get workouts to his athletes while campus is closed. He sends them programs online that go along with his videos that demonstrate how to properly do the move. You’ll find an “At Home Workout” playlist on his channel! I linked my favorite video above, because it stars Jacksy Cat, on accident. HAHA

#10. Good Old Fashioned Fresh Air!

And last, but certainly not least, get outside and go for a walk/run! There is nothing better than fresh air when you’ve been stuck inside all day!
