Weekend Round Up

Hi Loves! Happy Sunny Sunday! Today is the most GORGEOUS Fall day in metro Detroit! We’ve had a really great weekend and I can’t wait to share it with you!

But first… I’m sorry I missed Thursday’s post! Do you ever just have a not so great day that never ends?? That was my Thursday. I got home super late and was so exhausted that I fell asleep in the chair! So! Thursday’s post will be up tomorrow instead!

OH! And speaking of this week on the blog… I’ve got an entire week of house themed posts coming at you! I have A LOT that I’ve been excited to share and I feel like now is a great time with the holidays just around the corner! I know people like to give their homes a little refresh before having their entire family over for Thanksgiving or Christmas. So maybe I’ll be able to give you an idea… or four 🙂

And now, let’s talk about our weekend! I closed at work on Friday, and as soon as I got done, my parents and Manly were here! We went out to dinner and then came back to the house to snuggle in for the night. We were all tired, so we chatted and watched some tv before hitting the hay!

Saturday we were up early to get some work done around the house! Our goal for the weekend was to remove all the purple paneling we had left! It went up the stairs and down the hallway of our upper floor. It came down SO fast! As most of you already know, we’re not ready to start renovating our upstairs. However, we really wanted the wall behind the stairs to be complete before the holidays. (I have big plans for Christmas decor that include garlands on the stair rail!)

So we removed all the purple paneling, and will just fix up the walls for now! This took us WAY less time than we thought it would, which was so exciting! Just taking the paneling down opened up the stairway SO MUCH!

We also got the rest of the caulking on the main floor done. And guys… our main floor is pretty much all done!! We’ve got a few more things that we’re working on, and of course the decor isn’t all done yet either. But we LOVE it so much! (Don’t worry… I got my pictures I needed today for an Updated Home Tour later this week! EEK!)

Saturday afternoon we did a little shopping that my parents needed to do, and went to Sam’s Club to buy candy for our trick or treaters!!!

Saturday night we went to dinner at One Eyed Betty’s in Ferndale where I ate the most amazing brussels sprouts and grilled cheese ever! The grilled cheese was served with this tomato jam that tasted like tomato soup and it was honestly mind blowing. And for dessert we had hot donuts!

After dinner we went to watch Trev’s men’s soccer team! It was SUPER cold out once the sun went down, so we watched from inside the truck. They ended up winning! #GoTitans

When we got home from the game we snuggled up to watch the new Hallmark movie. I totally fell asleep though… which was a bummer because I really wanted to see that one!

This morning we woke up and watched some Friends while we had coffee and ate breakfast. My parents helped us move our living room around before we packed them up and said our goodbyes. We really wished they didn’t have to leave already!

When my family was gone we headed out to do some errands!

First we went to Marshall’s to get a new coffee table! I first saw it last weekend and thought it would be perfect, but had to think about it first. I decided we needed it and wanted Trev to see it too! Thank goodness we went today, we got the last one. We love it and it was the perfect finishing touch to our living room! Here’s a sneak peak with a handsome model 🙂

Then we grabbed some lunch before grocery shopping and making a quick Target run. I picked up a copy of one of my favorite Instagrammer’s books, The Cozy White Cottage! I can’t WAIT to read it!

In fact… that’s what I’m about to do now 🙂

How were your weekends?! I hope they were equal parts fun and relaxing!

Alright my loves, I’m off to read my new book and cozy up on the couch with Trev. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Sunday. I’ll be back tomorrow!
