Hi Friends! I’m back today to talk about one of my favorite things… makeup! When it comes to my makeup, I’m all about mixing high-end and drug store. I’m not someone to shy away from something because it doesn’t come from Sephora. You don’t have to spend $40 to get a killer highlight, or $30 on a lip kit to look flawless. For every high-end item I have in my makeup collection, theres a drug store item that I love just as much.
And with all the new stuff coming out at the drug store lately, I figured I’d share some of my favorites that are getting me ready for Spring! (PS… I’ve thrown in a few things that I mention time and time again too, because I just can’t get away from them! I wanted to make sure I gave you everything you would need for a full face!)
Alright friends. Let’s get to it! Here’s what I’ve been loving lately from the drugstore!
Soap and Glory’s One Heck of a Blot Primer I LOVE this primer so dang much. (No surprise. I only talk about it in every makeup post I ever write.) It’s really really good, and I think it’s a steal. It hasn’t always been a “drug store” primer (you used to have to get it at Ulta), but recently, they started selling it at Target! I love this primer because it keeps me matte all.day.long. I love it so much, I wore it on my wedding day. I promise, this stuff is good. (I really like to use this with Benefit Porefessional… but I didn’t tell you that, because this is a strictly drug store product post!) Get One Heck of a Blot here.
L’Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear Foundation Okay. So this one is one that I LOVED when I first tried it. I love the finish of it, and I also love how light weight it feels on my skin. That being said, these past couple of weeks, I’ve been HATING it. Like I feel like it’s making me look old and weird in every photo I’m taking. To be completely fair, I go through this every year around this time. I refuse to take pictures of myself because I don’t like how I look and my self esteem is always really down thanks to the winter months being so harsh on my skin. (Seriously. I’m see through.) But because I loved it so much when I first started wearing it, I’ve decided to set it aside and try it again later this spring. I think I’ll have better luck the second time around when my skin is a little bit healthier and has a little bit of color. So I’ve switched back to my other all time favorite drugstore foundation, my Wet n Wild PhotoFocus that I run to. It looks SO.GOOD. in photos. I’m not even joking. It doesn’t have any flashback and doesn’t make me look weird in random lighting. I 1,000% recommend if you have any photoshoots coming up in the near future! It also looks really good in person too. It’s just an amazing foundation and it’s literally less than $5. Grab the Freshwear here, and the Wet n Wild PhotoFocus here.
L’Oreal Infallible Full Wear Concealer I bought this concealer at the same time I bought the foundation and guys… it’s so good! It’s really full coverage (a lot like my Shape Tape) however, the shades are crazy light. I’ve had to wear this UNDER my foundation (which I hate doing) because I refuse to waste it but it was practically pure white on my skin. And guys… it still highlights my face. It’s THAT light! LOL I grabbed the shade Ivory (because I’m pale AF and wanted a little highlight) and it’s legit white as snow. So be sure when you’re picking this up you choose a shade or two darker then you think you need! It blends our super well and is extremely highlighting! I’ll be picking it up again in a slightly darker shade next time because I can’t see myself wanting to be without this concealer any time soon. You can get it here!
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer This one is an oldie but a goodie! I decided to purchase this back in January again because they were out of my trusty Maybelline FitMe Concealer. (Still love this one too!) I hadn’t used this one in ages and I forgot just how much I love it! It does a great job brightening under my eyes, and I know it’s not super sanitary, but I like the little sponge tip on the end. Grab your’s here.
Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Translucent Powder So funny story. I have one powder that I use, and one powder only… Laura Mercier. I’ve never been able to find a powder that doesn’t look cakey, keeps my oil at bay, and makes my skin look better. I never thought it was possible to find a drugstore powder that I would love but guys…. this one is really good. I picked it up on a whim because I saw my favorite beauty guru, Casey Holmes, haul it, and I needed something before my next Sephora order arrived. That was a few weeks ago and I haven’t even opened my Laura Mercier powder yet! So I think this is pretty dang new because I can’t find it on any website other than Wet n Wilds… but I found mine at Walmart! Grab your’s online here.
Lottie London Blush Crush in Drake Have you tried the Lottie London blushes yet? I saw this at Target and thought the packaging was super cute so I picked it up, and I. So glad I did! It’s the perfect coral shade for me and looks really pretty on my skin. I think this is going to be the perfect shade for summer! Grab it here for $5.99!
Physicians Formula x Casey Holmes Palette Ugh. I adore everything about this palette and I seriously think it’s the best $20 I’ve ever spent at Ulta. I feel bad mentioning it here because I know ifs limited edition and sold out everywhere online. But I’ve seen it available at my Ulta store and have heard quite a few of them still have it in stock! This palette contains some of my absolute favorite Butter products in limited edition and classic shades. Even if you can’t get your hands on the palette, you should stop by and pick up all these products from the Physicians Formula Butter line because they really are something special. The Butter Bronzer in dark is a cult favorite for a reason, her limited edition highlight is the prettiest golden shade and will be perfect for summer and the eyeshadows are so pigmented and smooth! (Plus they are in super versatile shades.) The lippie isn’t my favorite shade, but it feels really nice in my lips and I want to buy it in other colors! It also comes with their perfume which I actually liked the scent of too. It smells like the beach in a bottle. Like I said, if you can’t get your hands on this palette, go pick up all these products in their non limited edition Casey Holmes shades, you won’t be disappointed! Click here to see if it’s in stock at your local Ulta!
Elf Lock On Liner and Brow Cream I’d always heard this was a dupe for the ASB one. I’ve never been into brow pomades before but I saw this for really cheap and was like “might as well try it!” This glides on so smoothly and really defines my grows. I don’t use it every day, but I do use it when I want a more full face of makeup look. Get it here.
Jordana Best Lash Extreme and L’Oreal Lash Paradise Okay. I’ve talked about this one before, and I will talk about it again. Jordanna Best Lash Extreme is THE BEST drugstore mascara you will EVER find. My lashes look incredible all the time. In fact, multiple people have asked me what kind of falsies I’m wearing because they look so natural. They are always shocked to find out that they’re my real lashes, just a couple coats of my Best Lash Extreme. Plus, it’s so damn cheap. Whenever I find it, I buy every single one they have in stock. I also love L’Oreal Lash Paradise, just like everyone else. And mixing the two together?! UGH. SO. GOOD. And because I’m #Extra I usually throw on a third coat of my other favorite Maybelline Mascaras. (The Rocket and The Falsies) Find them here and here!
Sun Bum Lip Balm in Grapefruit As the weather gets warmer, my lip situation gets a whole lot better. All winter I struggle with dry lips, no matter how much lip balm I use. But as the weather starts to change, I’m able to get rid of my heavy balms and go for one that is light with lots of SPF. I love this, and use it all through the summer. It really does protect my lips from the sun and keeps them hydrated all day! Get your favorite flavor here.
And while it’s not a make up item… I just want to shout out Batiste for the new shade of dry shampoo for lighter brown hair! It’s perfect for me!
What are your go to drug store makeup products? I, of course, would love to have an excuse to go buy more makeup. #ICantHelpMyself
