Weekend Round Up

Ugh. Guys… I have a serious case of the Sunday Scaries rn. I’m so not ready for the week ahead! We’ve had such a great weekend, but it’s also been super busy!

We started our weekend out on Friday night… but I HAVE to talk about Thursday first since you didn’t hear from me! Thursday morning we woke up super early so I could drive Trev to work and make it to my work in time. Why? We had a Titans Basketball Double Header that night. I don’t usually go to weekday games. It makes it a really really long day for me. But I made an exception this week because the stud men’s player, Antoine Davis was about to make some history and I was NOT about to miss it!

Antoine is a freshman this year playing under his dad, Mike Davis. (If you like College Basketball, you’ve probably heard of him!) He burst onto the scene this past November scoring over 30 points per game the first month he played. In January, he scored a JAW DROPPING 48 points hitting 10 3s in a game against Wright State. (This was a weekday game and I was watching from home and so pissed I wasn’t there.) And on Thursday, he set out to beat a record previously held by the one and only, Steph Curry.

We watched as he drained his 123rd 3 point shot of this season and the crowd went nuts! It was so cool! Detroit hasn’t had a great team these past couple of seasons. And having Antoine and his Dad there seem to be bringing a lot of hope to the program. It was definitely worth not getting home until after 11 when we had left at 4:30 that morning! (You can watch a clip of the action from our local news station here.)

I was so exhausted on Friday that I was counting down the minutes until I could get home and snuggle up in bed. It was my Friday to close at work, so I got out late. I whipped out the Hungry Howies app as soon as I got to my car and ordered dinner so it would be there by the time I got home. I was starving! It couldn’t have been more perfect timing either. I walked in the door just as the bell was ringing and our pizza was arriving! We watched The Office while we ate and then spent the rest of the evening cleaning our apartment.

Does anyone else’s cat beg for food too? Jackson likes to sit right next to us our between our legs while we ate and look up all cute until he gets a piece. HAHA

By the time we were done we were EXHAUSTED and crashed before 10. Super wild Friday night over here!

Saturday we woke up and headed to Anna’s House to grab breakfast before heading back to UDM for the last two basketball games of the season. Trev’s girls played first and then the guys played an hour later.

We ended up having a little bit of extra time after breakfast, so we did the only logical thing we could think of and spent it at Target. I fell IN LOVE with the giant chair I’ve been seeing all over Instagram. It’s literally SO comfy. I wish I had a place to put it because we would buy it in a heartbeat.

After browsing around Target and leaving with a bunch of stuff we didn’t need, we head to UDM. Trev’s Mom and Grandma came up to see the game too! How cute are these two?!

After the games we grabbed dinner at Red Robin right around the corner from our house. We said our goodbyes and headed out to try and get us a Shamrock Shake. (If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that we’ve had terrible luck getting one since they came out!)

We FINALLY got our shakes and we were so happy! We snuggled up in bed to watch Netflix and enjoy them!

I was so excited I couldn’t get a non blurry picture lol

This morning we were up early to do some errands and all our other typical Sunday stuff. When we got home we made lunch, and worked on our lesson plans/programs for the week. Then I worked out and we made dinner and now, it’s 7:30 and we’re ready to snuggle in for the night. It’s been a great weekend, but a really busy one!

Jackson showing off his new bowls from Target. (But actually probably wondering where his third bowl is because he wants a broth.)

How were your weekends? Did you take some time for a little R&R or were you busy like us?!

I’ll be back tomorrow for Spring Break week! YAY! If I can’t go to warm places, at least I can write about them on my blog 🙂

Have a great rest of your night my friends. I’ll talk to you tomorrow!

  1. Your weekend sounded busy but enjoyable. My weekend was also busy. On Friday I babysat my niece until my sister got done teaching at her gym. Saturday we had to be up bright and early to take my 3 year old to my parents and then drive my 5 year old to Albany. He had his first Jui Jitsu tournament which he won 1st place in his weight bracket!!! Super proud moment. Today I taught Sunday school then we headed to Lansing for my sister’s friend’s daughter’s birthday party. Right now I’m laying in bed trying to get my 1 year old to bed so I can pass out. A fun exhausting weekend. I’m not ready for the busy weekend ahead. 😂
