Weekend Round Up

Hi Friends!!! I hope you all had the most perfect weekends. I’m happy to say that today I’m feeling rested, happy and in a much better place than I was last week! My weekend has been filled with all the warm, cozy feelings that I love as this time of year rolls around!

Friday morning we woke up to SNOW! I’m not the biggest fan of snow, but the first snow is always so dang magical!

It snowed big fluffy flakes all day. After work, Trev and I ran to Target and then decided to grab some dinner and snuggle in for the night at home. We headed to bed early, because we had big day planned for Saturday!

Saturday we woke up and it was FINALLY Frakenmuth day! I look forward to our annual trip to Frakenmuth all year long. We grabbed Peppermint Mochas from Biggby and make the hour-ish drive to Michigan’s Little Bavaria.

Someone please convince him to shave that mustache. #Movember

We met my parents at the Outlets in Birch Run, and hopped in their truck so we didn’t have to find parking for two cars in Frakenmuth. Our first stop was Bronner’s! We picked up a few new ornaments for our tree, including our annual Trevor and Savannah ornament! This is the 7th year we’ve gotten one!

After Bronner’s we stuck to our tradition and headed to Frankenmuth Brewery for lunch!

Then we took our time shopping around the cute little shops you find all over Frakenmuth.

Also, how cute is my coat?! It’s super snuggly and warm and less than $50! I’m linking it here.

At 2:00 we made our way to the Bavarian Inn… we were makin’ pretzels! We had so much fun doing the preztel making class. You’d be SHOCKED to know how affordable it is. If you’re heading to Frakenmuth and want to learn more, click here. It was the first time we did it, and we had a blast!

We had about an hour (our class was massive) until our pretzels were done, so we did a little bit more shopping around downtown!

Same spot 7 years later!

And then… it was time to see our pretzels! Turns out, I’m a MASTER pretzel maker 🙂

After we grabbed our pretzels we headed back to Birch Run to grab some dinner before saying goodbye to my parents and heading back to Detroit.

(PS… you can see more from our time in Frakenmuth on my featured Insta Stories. Just click the “Pure Michigan” one! And if you’re looking for a guide to Frakenmuth, click here!)

We snuggled in and I binge watched the rest of Sabrina on Netflix. Ugh. It’s SO good! I was up until 2 am. I haven’t stayed up binge watching shows that late since college!

This morning we woke up and Trev convinced me it was a good idea to go workout together. Personally, I wanted to stay with Jacksy Cat…

Now that’s my idea of a Sunday morning! Instead, I worked my ass off doing cardio circuits, lifting (v. light) weights and teaching Trev my favorite ab routine. I stopped every 3 minutes to do this…

I’m v. athletic. After our workout, Trev warmed up his Women’s Basketball Team and met some recruits and then we headed to the grocery store. When we got home, we started decorating for Christmas! I know that might sound crazy, but we spend most of our weekends with our families around the holidays, so we don’t have much time at home to enjoy our tree. We are transitioning our Christmas decor this year from the cheap things we bought for our first apartment into things we would love to have in our house someday. So all the things we were keeping went up, and everything else went into donate bins or the trash. (Seriously…. so many broken bulbs!)

After we decorated I tried a new recipe for dinner and it was SO good! (I shouldn’t be surprised. Mix and Match Mama never fails me!) If you’re looking for a cozy dinner on a chilly night, check out her Stove Top Chicken Pot Pie recipe! You’ll love it, and it was super easy. Only thing we did differently was I served it with biscuits 🙂

Now we’re meal prepping for the week before DWTS Juniors comes on in an hour!

How were your weekends?! Did you do anything super fun? I’ll be back TOMORROW for a week of Thanksgiving themed posts! I’ve got a collab/DIY for your Thanksgiving table, recipes and all sorts of fun stuff up my sleeve! You aren’t going to want to miss a single post. So be sure you’re subscribed to get them delievered right to your inbox!

Have a fantastic rest of your Sunday my friends. Take some time tonight to relax and enjoy your night before Monday arrives.
