Weekend Round Up

Hey Guys! Happy Sunny Sunday! It has been an absolutely gorgeous weekend here in Michigan, and we’ve been enjoying every, last second of it! My birthday is next week (Eek! I’m going to be so old!) so we’ve been celebrating my birthday all weekend. We’ve done all of my favorite things, I got to see some of my favorite people, and spend some time at my favorite places. It’s been such a great weekend, and I’m so sad it’s already almost over!

We started our weekend out on Friday night… with an International Date Night! A few weeks ago, Trev asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday dinner. I knew we’d have to celebrate not on the day, because my birthday just so happens to fall on the last Tuesday of the month this year. Which means I have a late work meeting and won’t get home until after 8:00. So I decided, let’s go bit or go home. And picked A&W… in Canada.

If you’ve been with me since the beginning, you’ll know about our obsession with A&W Canada. We ate it on our Honeymoon when I got us lost between Calagary and Banff. We were SO hungry and pulled off on an exit where there was an A&W connected to a gas station. We couldn’t believe how much better their A&W was than ours, and we have gotten it every time we’ve been to Canada since!

So Trev agreed to International Date Night (we literally live 20 minutes from the US/Canada border) and we grabbed our passports to head to Canada after work!

Canada here we come!

In true Savannah fashion, I got us lost three times, but that’s okay. We made it to A&W, eventually!

I ate my burger in less than 4 minutes and was so dang happy!

Better than Birthday Cake.

After dinner we headed to the riverfront to enjoy the sunset and the view of Detroit.

Then, we stocked up on all our favorite Canadian treats before heading home for the night..

Saturday morning we were up early to head to Grand Rapids for the day! We were meeting my parents and two of my cousins to spend the day enjoying ArtPrize! I LOVEEEE ArtPrize and we had the best time eating at some of our favorite spots from college, wandering around the city, and of course enjoying the amazing Art!

I was so sad we only got to spend a day in GR. We miss living there so much! But it was a perfect day and the best way to spend my birthday weekend!

On our way home, we decided to stop and grab groceries so we could spend today laying around doing absolutely nothing.

I woke up to breakfast in bed and To All The Boys I Loved Before ready to go on Netflix. (Does my hubby know me or what?!)

I woke up like this. HAHA

I also woke up to an absolutely GORGEOUS fall day! So, I decided that staying home today wasn’t an option. That we HAD to go to the Cider Mill!

We spent the morning in line at the mill waiting for apple cider, donuts and apple cider slushies! (Totally worth the wait, btw!)

Then, we headed to Trader Joe’s and grabbed some lunch before coming home to spend the rest of the day doing stuff around the house! We’ve got a little bit of cleaning to do, a few blog photos to take, and a lot of resting before Monday rolls around!

How were your weekends?! I hope you got to do something fun and Fall-ish!

This week is going to look a little bit different on the blog today, because you won’t be getting a post on Tuesday! So tomorrow, except another Fall DIY (you’re going to DIE it’s so good!), a #WhatUpWednesday on Wednesday, and collab with one of my favorite companies to work with on Thursday! So while it’s going to be a short week on the blog, it’s going to be a good one.

I’ll be back tomorrow my friends! Have a fantastic rest of your Sunday!

  1. I would have NEVER guessed that A&W in Canada would be different than in the US … BUT the funny thing is … I was just driving home to IL from MN yesterday and I happened to see an A&W and HAD to stop because we don’t have any in our area and I got a root beer float for my 8 hr drive. It was definitely NOT a healthy choice but tasty nonetheless!
