Hey Hey! Happy Travel Tuesday everyone! Today, we’re starting a brand new Travel Series on the blog! It’s easily the most “well known” place I’ve ever brought to this blog and also probably the most “touristy”. It’s a place that a lot have you have probably already been to, too. (Seriously, I felt like the last person on the planet to come visit!)
Niagara Falls is one of the most visited waterfalls in the world. To call them “epic” feels like a tragic understatement. I can’t even begin to tell you just how amazing they really are in person. So I decided, I’m not going to. I’m just going to tell you why you need to get there.
Here are 10 Reasons Niagara Falls Should Be Your Next Vacation.
You get to experience one of the world’s most popular natural wonders. Let’s start with the most obvious! While Niagara Falls might not be considered one of the 7 Wonders of The World, it is one of the most visited natural wonders on the planet! People come from near and far to see the roaring water spilling into the Niagara River.

You can look, and you can touch. You know how sometimes you wait your WHOLE LIFE to see a place, but you can’t really experience it because you can only look at it from afar? (I’m talking to you, Mona Lisa.) Niagara Falls is literally the exact opposite of that. You can ride into the mist, get behind the falls, zip line across them and even experience them from the comfort of a 4D theater. Niagara Falls is 100% a “total experience” that comes along with multiple colorful ponchos.

You don’t have to feel bad about being a tourist. Who else feels super awkward about standing out like a sore thumb when you go to a smaller destination? Like the locals are like “Op. There’s a fudgie if I’ve ever seen one.” (Okay. That’s pry the most midwestern/Michigan thing I’ve ever written. HAHA) But you know what I mean? Like I always worry “Omg I’m not going to dress right” or “Omg I’m going to look like an idiot”. Here, EVERYONE is a tourist. Literally everyone. So you can break out your maps and your fanny packs, and let your tourist flag fly.

It’s a great spot for literally anyone. Family? Romance? Girls trip? Go to Niagara. Niagara Falls is perfect no matter what kind of getaway you’re looking for. If you’re taking a family trip with young kids, there is plenty to keep them entertained. Looking for a little romance? Spend a perfect weekend curled up at a little B&B in Niagara on the Lake. Trying to get away with your girls? You should see all the wine tasting tours you can do in the area. (Like on a bike, on a bus or on your own.)

The Fireworks / Light Show. Every night in the summer, they have Fireworks! It’s basically the Fourth of July all year long… and you know I’m here for it.
Food. Niagara Falls get a really bad rep for “touristy” food. Yes. Clifton Hill is full of your American fast food joints and everyone’s favorite chain restaurants. But it also has a few hidden gems that are really, really great. And when you drive just outside of town? You’re going to find world class dining, delicious mom and pops and farm fresh food that is out of this world.

Wine. The Falls happen to be just down the road from Canada’s Wine Country. NOTL boasts over 20 Wineries that are all nestled in between miles of vineyards and orchards. TripAdvisor ranks NOTL the #1 destination for Food and Wine in all of Canada. (Oh you fancy, huh?) And you can see why the second you roll up. The wineries are stunning, the landscape is breath taking, and the wine? It will turn a wine hater (me) into a wine lover (me coming home with 12 bottles of wine from my favorite spots in NOTL.)
Speaking of Niagara on the Lake…
NOTL is charming AF. ‘Nough said.

You get to be a kid again. Arcades, ferris wheels, wax museums, Chocolate World. Literally everything your childhood dreams were made of, you’ll find on Clifton Hill.

It’s Really, Really Pretty… and there isn’t a better reason to go than that.
Have you ever been to Niagara Falls? Did you love it?!!
Starting today, the next couple (okay, may quite a few) Tuesdays, I’ll be sharing everything I learned about making the most of a weekend in Niagara Falls. From where to stay, what to do, what is worth the money (and what isn’t) and where to find the best food and drinks, I’ve got a lifetime of knowledge.
HAHA easily one of the greatest movies ever made.
Alright my friends, I hope you have have a fantastic Fourth of July! I’ll be back on Sunday with a Weekend Round Up. (Because really, everyone is off having fun in the sun for the best holiday of the summer! No one wants to sit inside and read ☺️)
Xx.

We did!! It was so much fun! And so much better than I had expected it to be. I’d always heard it was just a tourist trap (which it kind of is) but the falls are so beautiful and I fell in love with Niagara on the Lake! Definitely a great place to add to your bucket list 🙂
