Oh. Em. Gee. Guess what?! This is my 300th Blog Post!!! Say what?! Thanks to everyone who has been here since the beginning, and all of you that are here now. I just want you to know, that I love writing this blog, and I’m so happy you’re here to read it!
Alright you guys. Seriously question. Why is it that the weekend FLYS by? Like, I blinked and our weekend is already over. In fact, it went so fast that time got away from me… which is why you’re seeing my Weekend Round Up on a Monday Morning, instead of a Sunday night. Oops.
We had such a fun weekend visiting my family Up North! However, our visit was way too short. We both had to work on Friday, which means we couldn’t leave until rush hour. Which meant it took us an hour and a half to drive the first 6 miles. (Can you hear my eyes rolling as I type this?) We didn’t make it to Manistee until after 10.
When we got there, I opened my birthday presents from my parents, played my pups and took a shower before snuggling in bed.

We woke up Saturday to a really rainy day. Boo. But we didn’t let the rain ruin our time! My dad had waffles and bacon waiting for us when we woke up. He seriously makes the best waffles in the world. I’m totally going to have to share with you how he makes them some day!
After breakfast we got dressed and headed to visit my Grandparents. It’s always great to get to visit with them for awhile!

From there we headed to TJs for my birthday dinner… which we celebrated at lunch because we totally wanted Big Al’s during the Big Game! If you’re ever in the Manistee area, a stop at TJs is a must. I could literally eat their “Cubano” every.single.day.
The rain kinda stopped for a bit, so we headed to Orchard Market for a little bit of fall fun. We shopped in the market for yummy baked goods, snacks and other fall goodies, and then we went out to the pumpkin patch to find a nice big pumpkin for me to take to my classroom this week. (We’re studying pumpkins.)
From Orchard Market we headed to my other Grandma and Grandpa’s to visit and wait to see my cousin all dressed up for her Senior Homecoming!
Then, it was time for the Big Game. Our Big Al’s was fantastic, the company was even better, but the results of the game totally weren’t what we were hoping for. Oh well. Next year. #GoBlue
Sunday morning, we woke up and headed to House of Flavors for a big breakfast and took one last beach ride before it was already time to head out. I was SO SAD that our weekend went by so fast. It definitely wasn’t enough time at home. ๐ฆ
Now, if you know me, you know I pretty much LIVE for weekends. So you know I’m already planning the next one. I’m so excited because one of my favorite Fall Festivals is taking place next weekend!
If you’ve been here since last fall, you’ve heard me talk all about Kapnick Orchard’s Apple Cider Slushies and how I’m OBSESSED with them! You can read a little bit about Kapnick Orchards here. Well, this little orchard is just down the road from Tecumseh, and it always throws it’s Apple Festival the same weekend as Tecumseh’s AppleUmpkin festival. And it just so happens both these fun fall fests are next weekend!
If you in Southeast Michigan, I totally recommend you check it out. We start at Kapnicks, where we grab our slushies/cider and donuts and walk around while we listen to the live music, walk through the orchards and check out their arts and crafts vendors. Then, we drive over to Tecumseh for the AppleUmpkin festival. But, if you don’t want to drive and find a place to park, you don’t have to! They have a shuttle between the two that runs all day. Find out more about the AppleUmpkin Festival here and the Apple Festival here.
Sound like fun to you too?! Be on the lookout for me and make sure you say HI!
I’m off to try to cover up these dark circles so I look SLIGHTLY presentable for work today. Have a fantastic week everyone!
Xx.
