Hey there loves! Happy Thursday? Possibly Friday? I’m not really sure… all I know is this blog is being written and going up LATE. I had a CRAZY day at the Ballpark. It was so freakin’ hot and they had me running wheelchairs. Let me just say this… trying to push someone a lot bigger than you up a ramp from the lower bowl to the main concourse and to their gate multiple times in the 95 degree heat is not easy. I’m absolutely drained. But luckily, my sweet hubby had dinner made for me when I got home, and now we’re snuggled up with Netflix, in the air conditioning 🙂
Anyways, let’s get to todays post, shall we?
I’m super excited because today, I’m talking about one of my favorite holidays! I absolutely LOVE the Fourth of July. Nothing makes me happier than BBQs, fireworks, small town festivals (can you say ELEPHANT EARS?!) and Red, White and Blue. Every year, we head to the beach to celebrate, and this year is no exception.
But let’s be real. It’s practically impossible to celebrate the stars and stripes without a few Fourth of July essentials. Here are my must haves for the perfect Fourth of July weekend.
The Perfect Outfit. Whether you’re decking out in Vineyard Vines or a red bikini top with hand cut daisy dukes, you need a perfect outfit for every BBQ, parade and party you’re about to attend. Not sure what to wear? Don’t worry. You can’t go wrong if you choose anything red, white or blue 🙂
The Perfect Drink. The best thing about Fourth of July is day drinking… am I right? So head over to Pinterest and start your searching. You’ll be the most popular person at the party when you show up with a pretty patriotic drink!
Patriotic Decor. You can’t host a BBQ without some cute decor for the biggest party of the summer. Stop by Target, Michaels or Hobby Lobby to pick up the last minute touches that will have your guests thinking they stepped into Martha Stewart’s back yard… not yours. (Not that your back yard is bad… but I mean can you imagine a party in Martha Stewart’s back yard? It’d be so perfectly decorated, have delicious food, and Snoop would totally be there.)
Festive Treats. If you’re attending a BBQ, it’s always polite to offer to bring some food along with you. Why not choose a delicious holiday treat? Check out this awesome snack from one of my favorite food bloggers Mix and Match Mama. Or head to Pinterest… because Pinterest is where it’s at.
Sparklers. Because it’s not Fourth of July if you don’t write your name in the air with sparklers.
Fireworks. Did the Fourth of July even happen if you don’t post an obligatory fire works photo on the ‘gram?
Small Town Celebrations. I’ve said it before… and I’ll say it again. I don’t think there is any other way to celebrate the Fourth than in a small town. If you ask me, small towns do Fourth of July right. From carnivals and petting zoos, to craft shows and flea markets, these (sometimes cheesy) festivals are what I look forward to every year. The fireworks shows may not be as big as in the city, and the Independence Day Parades may not be as grand. But there is something special about celebrating America’s birthday where everyone knows everyone, and you don’t have to fight for a good spot to watch the fireworks.
And of course…
Red, White and Blue. Do I really need to mention this one?! From red sundresses to blue cocktails, white sandy beaches and patriotic decor, it’s the one weekend a year that Red, White and Blue is totally in.
Guys! It’s just about time to shout HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA! What are you up to this weekend?!
No posts again until next Wednesday… I’m going to be enjoying the weekend with my loved ones.
Have a wonderful Fourth of July everyone! Stay safe, and I’ll talk to you soon!
Xx.
