Life Lately

Hey Everyone! Long time no blog… am I right? It feels like FOREVER since I got to write to you all. Sorry I was a bit MIA last week. We were so busy!

Let’s start with last Tuesday… because I’m SO excited to finally share some good news with you! Last week, Trevor found out that he was hired to work for the Tiger’s this summer. (He still has his full time job at UDM, he wanted to do this for the free Tiger’s Tickets. HAHA) The gig is awesome. He can choose to work whenever he wants, as much or as little as he wants, doing customer service at Tigers games. When I heard about it I was like UMMM I want to do that too!

One thing led to another, and last Tuesday I found myself at Comerica for an interview and guess what? They picked me too! So if you’re at a Tigers game this summer, come find me and say Hi!

Wednesday, my car got new tires and we spent the evening cleaning and packing.

Thursday, as soon as we got out of work, we headed Up North for a long weekend. I was so excited to get to go home and spend some time with my family! The drive took us forever thanks to rush hour traffic, but my sweet hubby drove the whole way so I could sleep. (Guys. My voice gave out on me half way through the school day. I could literally talk no louder than a dang whisper.)

Friday, I woke up not feeling the greatest, and still no voice. BUT we had the greatest day! Trev and I had a quick meeting at the bank, and then we went with my Dad out to Dublin for a brat run. (If you don’t know what Dublin is… click here, and thank me later!)

When we got back, Trev and I went for a walk on the beach. It was SO beautiful out! We went to see my cousin’s baseball game, and then headed to dinner at one of our favorites, TJ’s Pub.

Saturday, we were up early and the fours of us went out to breakfast. Then my mom and I went off to spend some time together. We went for a walk at the Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary and then on the Riverwalk. (The guys went to shoot guns with my cousin.)

Saturday afternoon we got to see my cousin and her boyfriend all dressed up for prom, and then we headed to my Grandma’s for dinner and a bonfire to celebrate Mother’s Day and my Grandpa’s birthday.

And Saturday night we were lucky to catch a GORGEOUS sunset.

That’s me out there snapping pictures!

Sunday we of course spent celebrating Mother’s Day.

Which brings us to today. I’m snuggled up on my couch, watching TV and writing to you. I’m still not feeling all that great, but the sun is shining, the weather is beautiful, and I’m in a great mood. Why? Because it’s another short week… we’re heading back Up North Thursday!

Remember a few weeks ago when I talked about Tight Lines for Troops?! It’s happening this weekend! We’re so excited. Trev’s parents are meeting us in Manistee on Friday and we’re going to spend the weekend with both our families in my favorite place!

In other news… Did you see who broke up?! I have to say, I’m not shocked. They just didn’t seem all that happy on their Freeform show.

Alright. Enough of my rambling! I’m coming back tomorrow with my favorite DC eats that won’t break the bank. Until then, have a fantastic rest of your Monday! I hope you’re snuggled up too and watching DWTS 🙂
