Hey Hey! Happy Monday! Or I guess I hope your Monday is as happy as it possibly can be. I’m actually in a pretty great mood this Monday, because this week is a short work week for me (praise Jesus for Mid Winter Break!) and I’m really looking forward to getting away for a few days to spend some time Up North with my family.
Also, The Bachelor is on in an hour and it’s the episode I’ve been waiting for because CORINNE and her platinum you know what. Seriously. This episode is probably going to be THE MOST DRAMATIC EVER (I hope you read that in a Chris Harrison voice).
But you’re not here to read about how much I love Corinne, her nanny, and cheese pasta. You’re here for Mitten Monday! This Monday, we’re heading to the west side of the state for my all time favorite combo… Grand Rapids and Craft Beer.
THIS IS A PSA FOR ALL CRAFT BEER LOVERS. I REPEAT… A PSA FOR ALL CRAFT BEER LOVERS.
Thats right… this Wednesday starts Grand Rapids Beer Month and I promise you, this is something you don’t want to miss if you love craft beer. For an entire month, GR celebrates it’s incredible craft beer scene. And they want you to celebrate along with them.
So how exactly do you navigate a month of celebrating beer?
Become a Brewsader. Stop by any of the 32 breweries on the list, to pick up your Beer City Passport. Get stamps from at least 8 of them… and you’ll earn yourself a free t-shirt. Kind of awesome… right? You can learn more about it here.
Check out the Beer City Ale Trail. It’s like the Bourbon Trail in Louisville. Only better… because it’s beer, not bourbon. Print out a map here and take a self guided tour of this brew-tiful city.
Book a Bed and Brew package. After a day of drinking your way from brewery to brewery, you’ll need a place to rest your pretty little head. Check out GR’s Beer City USA Hotel Packages to find the one that is best for you.
Find a “Hoppin'” Event to attend. See what I did there? HAHA I crack myself up! Beer Month means TONS of Beer themed events around the city. Check out the full list here, but know… the one you don’t want to miss is Winter Beer Fest. This annual festival is held at Fifth Third Ballpark (home to the West Michigan White Caps) hosts more than 100 breweries that bring over 1000 different craft brews for you to try. Theres music, and food and fun. What more could you hope for?
Don’t forget to eat. Seriously. Some of the best restaurants in the state call Grand Rapids home. Cool Brews. Hot Eats. is the perfect time and place to try new food with the best beer pairings.
Now let me guess… you don’t have an entire month to head to Grand Rapids and enjoy everything you possibly can? No worries. A weekend is MORE than enough time.
So get your butt to Beer City, USA. You won’t regret it!
No Travel Tuesday post tomorrow since it’s Valentine’s Day! Look for it on Wednesday instead 🙂 Have a great Monday!
Xx.
