What to Wear: Christmas

So guys. Today is Tuesday, but it totally feels like Monday and I’m all sorts of mixed up. However, I’m embracing the fact that it’s already Tuesday because that means I’m one day closer to the weekend, AND one day closer to Christmas Break! I’m literally counting down the days to a week from Thursday when we head North to start our Holiday celebrations.

So yesterday, I tried to use my Snow Day to get a jump start on prepping for next week. I started making a packing list of absolutely everything Trev, Jackson and I will need since we’ll be out of town for almost three weeks between my family’s Christmas and his. Thats when I started pulling out all of my Christmas outfits.

Every Christmas, I have quite a few celebrations to go to. In fact, I attend 4 within two days just for my family, and then another later on with Trev’s family! All those outfit changes can get exhausting, but… I totally think they are worth it!

Curious what I’ll be wearing this Christmas? Than keep on reading.

First up, my Christmas Eve Dress. On Christmas Eve, we ALWAYS celebrate with my mom’s side of the family. We all dress up and go to Church together (this is no small feat, as there are so many of us we take up three church pews!), and then head to my Grandma’s for yummy food, presents and Grandpa’s Whiskey Slushies. This year, I’ll be wearing this stunning dress from Express. I wore it for a wedding a few weekends ago and got so many compliments on it. Trust me. You need this dress in your life! I chose it in black, but it comes in 5 different colors. PS… if you order it ASAP, you can get free shipping, and should have it in time for Christmas Eve! Also, the lace is super soft, and you don’t need to worry about it being too itchy.

Lace Dress // Clutch is from Charming Charlie last year. Similar here and here // Shoes are from Aldo (Sold Out) Similar here

Next up, is Christmas Morning. We spend Christmas Morning snuggled in at home, eating Christmas breakfast, opening presents and watching A Christmas Story . And of course… we do all this in our Christmas PJs. Last year, my Mom and I wore these adorable matching Elf PJs not only on Christmas morning, but on her last day of school before break. They’re so dang cute and so dang comfy that Target brought them back again this year, just with a little bit different pattern. And they have them for the entire family. SO if you’re looking for family PJs, click herehere and here!

However, if you’re like me, and don’t have a cute little family to dress, check out these bad boys. We bought these to wear for our Christmas Card this year (you’ll hear more about that tomorrow!) and ended up LOVING them. You guys. These are the warmest, snuggliest, PJs in all the land. No joke! You’ll never want to take them off. Just know, they run super big. I’m wearing an XS and drown in it. (PS… Trev is wearing a Women’s Large, and it fits him just fine. They didn’t have funny holiday ones in the Men’s section at the Target we were at. SO if you want one for that man in your life, order it from the women’s section and just don’t tell him. He’ll never know! HAHA)

After being nice and lazy, we head to spend Christmas Day with my Dad’s side of the family. We actually celebrate twice! We have a huge extended family celebration first. For this, I always dress comfy. There are so many people we tend to sit wherever, even the floor, so jeans are a must for me. I dress them up a bit, since I know I’ll be in family photos with a cute plaid blanket scarf and a striped shirt. (Never be afraid to mix prints!)

Top // Jeans (Only $25 right now!) // Mine is from last year, but this one
is almost the exact same! Plus, it’s 30% off right now online! Go grab it, and this one and this one too! Target’s blanket scarves are my absolute favorite and at 30% off they are an absolute steal. // Boots

We end our Christmas celebrations at my Grandma’s house, with just our immediate family. (Saying just our immediate family might be misleading… my family is massive, and it’s a house full!) It’s a casual affair where we eat, drink and are hella merry. This year we’re all wearing ugly sweaters! I’m not going to post a photo of mine yet… I want it to be a surprise and I know most of my family reads this 🙂 So instead, I’m going to link my favorite Ugly Sweaters I’ve seen this year (Mine may, or may not be linked!) and post a photo of some of my cousins and I playing games at our Grandma’s.

Make Your Own Ugly Sweater Kit // PUGly Sweater (See what I did there?) Less than $25 right now!!! // Unfortunate Gingerbread Man Less than $20 right now!!! // Llama Llama Red Pajama  Also less than $25 right now!!!// Chillin’ with my Gnomie  Again… less than $25 //  You guys… All of Target’s Ugly Sweaters are on sale right now! You seriously can’t beat this deal. Check out my links above, or click here to see more options. Plus, you get free shipping… so you really can’t say no! I always buy my Ugly Sweaters from Target because they are cute, affordable, and cozy. I usually end up getting mine from the Men’s section too. I always like theirs better! // If you’re more into making your sweater, here are a few of my favorite on Pinterest. Be sure to follow me while you’re there!

And last, we always end up going shopping the day after Christmas. If we’re shopping at the mall, I usually like to wear a big snuggly sweater that I can easily take off while in the dressing room.

This is the world’s snuggliest sweater from The Cottonseed in Glen Arbor, Michigan. It’s one of my favorite boutique stores ever, and I stop in every time I’m in town. However, you can’t order online from them. But this one and this one are really similar.

If we’re shopping in a cute little downtown (like in Traverse City) you’ll find me in a puffer vest, plaid and cute beanie!

Flannel is old and well loved. But similar here and here // Vest // Beanie is from Serendipity Boutique but similar here and here

What are you going to be wearing this Christmas? Remember, this week is pretty much the very last week to be able to order online to get your items here before Christmas! So get to ordering ASAP!

I’m back tomorrow with a fun Christmas Card post! I’ve been waiting to share until I’m SURE that all our loved ones received their’s in the mail first! But it’s so hard to wait because I’m super excited to share Trev and I’s very first couples card, and throw out some fun ideas for you all! Be sure to check back tomorrow, or better yet, hit that subscribe button to receive the post right in your inbox!

Enjoy the rest of you Tuesday! We’re off to Trev’s Christmas Party in downtown Detroit.
